OLD RADIO STATION
This large array of mast and pylons called « Curtain Array Antenna » are the mains source of divertissment in France and the world in the old days.
The Issoudun transmitter is a shortwave radio transmitter center installed since 1950 in the Issoudun region (Indre), in the territory of the commune of Saint-Aoustrille, where it broadcasts, mainly, Radio France programs internationally abroad. It has been managed since 1975 by the TDF (Télédiffusion de France) company. For its important part in the history of radio, there is a conservatory in one of the first buildings which is no longer used.
Since 2023, TDF begins to dismantled those massive mast antenna and curtain arrays, in mid 2024, no more mast and antenna are visible, all down.
Those pictures are a leap into the distant past.
